4 Netflix Horror Movies to Watch This Weekend (before they’re removed on Monday June 30th)

June is almost over. That means Netflix is about to lose another batch of movies. From the horror category, the following four movies are leaving. Your last day to watch these films on Netflix is June 30th, 2025!
Annabelle (2014)
The complete story of Annabelle is unnecessarily complicated, so taking each movie on its own is probably the way to go. The story of this film is set between Annabelle: Creation (2017) and Annabelle Comes Home (2019), and it’s a direct prequel to Annabelle’s brief appearance in The Conjuring (2013). Set in 1967, Annabelle is about the possessed doll’s attempt to take a new mother’s soul.
The Nun (2018)
It wasn’t the first movie in the series to be released, but chronologically speaking, The Nun is the movie that begins the Conjuring Universe. That means you can watch it on its own and be just fine understanding everything that you see. The movie goes for a Gothic, Hammer-Horror-like aesthetic, and it accomplishes the look pretty well.
Resident Evil: Retribution (2012)
It’s been a while since I’ve watched the entire Paul W.S. Anderson Resident Evil series. If I’m being honest, some of the various storylines of the later films blend together in my memory. I remember this one features the return of Michelle Rodriguez’s character (sort of), and the story deals with Alice and Ada fighting their way through an Umbrella facility. I’m not the biggest fan of this series after the first movie, but this one is fun enough for a wacky action-horror extravaganza.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)
With the new sequel coming out in just a few weeks, you’ll probably want to re-watch the movie that started the series. It’s not clear how deep the connections between the 1997 and 2025 movies will go, but we know from the latest trailers that Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Ray Bronson (Freddie Prinze Jr.) are in the new one. Some context on their first encounter with a killer will likely be important to get the full experience of the legacy sequel.
