Chase Infiniti’s next lead role puts her inside the world of a painting that may be looking back. Lionsgate has greenlit Portrait of God, a feature adaptation of Dylan Clark’s 2022 horror short, with Sam Raimi and Jordan Peele producing together for the first time.
The short follows a religious young woman working on a presentation about a painting titled Portrait of God. Viewers see different things in its seemingly dark canvas, and she begins to suspect something on the other side can see her. Clark’s original has drawn millions of views online; the feature will expand its world.

Peele, the director of Get Out, Us and Nope, will produce through Monkeypaw Productions. Raimi, who created The Evil Dead series, and Rob Tapert will produce through Ghost House Pictures.
Infiniti, 26, joins the project after starring opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another. That performance brought her a 2026 Golden Globe nomination for best female actor in a musical or comedy. She’s also an Emmy nominee for outstanding lead actress in a drama series for playing Agnes in The Testaments, the sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, which has been renewed for season 2.
Clark said of Infiniti: “She blew me away in One Battle After Another and is one of the most exciting young actors working today.” The 25-year-old filmmaker is also directing Lionsgate’s next Blair Witch film, scheduled for September 24, 2027, which will be his feature directorial debut.
