Drew Barrymore had a warning for anyone who caught a hypothetical “Drew Barrymore virus”: “Poor them.” Asked by Brittany Broski what it would make people crave, she answered, “They would crave like dry humping the leg of everyone like a brand new Labrador in heat.”

The question came during her Royal Court appearance, released October 9, 2026. Broski brought up Santa Clarita Diet, the Netflix comedy in which Barrymore played Sheila Hammond, a realtor who becomes undead and craves human flesh, then asked what Barrymore’s own version would do.

Barrymore described affection that keeps going until it gets uncomfortable: “It’s like, oh, I like you so much. I like you so much, I just do.” She added, “And you’re like, it’s cute at first. And then it’s like, oh God, this got awkward.”

The conversation turned to her rescue dog Douglas. Barrymore said he’d been neutered at the shelter but still “tries to get on things.” Broski told her he’s “just like his mom in that way,” and Barrymore agreed.
