Zendaya’s next sci-fi role will take her into an untitled Alex Garland film that’s scheduled to shoot in 2027. Garland will write and direct the A24 project, with the story still under wraps.
The pairing brings the Dune star together with the filmmaker behind Ex Machina, Annihilation and the series Devs. Garland’s A24 work also includes Civil War, Men and Warfare, and the studio’s backing his upcoming Elden Ring adaptation, due in March 2028.
Zendaya already has a substantial history with A24. Euphoria ended its 3-season run earlier this year, while The Drama, her dark comedy with Robert Pattinson, earned almost $135 million worldwide.
Her 2026 film slate also includes The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Before filming on Garland’s project begins next year, she’ll return as Chani in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three, which opens December 16.
