The new horror and thriller options on Netflix in September provide a good variety of older standouts, newer favorites, and some interesting series.

The second half of Wednesday season two premieres on September 3rd.

Listed here is every movie and TV show coming to Netflix in September that falls into horror or horror-adjacent categories. Direct links to Netflix are provided when available. Keep in mind that dates and titles, especially for older movies, are subject to change.

September 1

Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)

Bram Stoker’s Dracula returns to Netflix in September.

Directed by Francis Ford Coppola, this is likely the most lavish adaptation of Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel. Watch it September 1st, then compare it with the 2020 Dracula series which is also streaming on Netflix (which is also quite good).

Wednesday – Season 2, Part 2 (2025)

Gwendoline Christie returns to Wednesday in a new form of her character Larissa Weems.

The final four episodes of season two drop on September 3rd. In the second half of the season, Wednesday’s quest to save her friend Enid might actually be putting her into more danger as forces align against them and the entire Addams family.

September 4

The Blackening (2023)

The Blackening was directed by Tim Story.

A group of friends reunite to celebrate Juneteenth at a cabin in the woods. As night falls, they become targets of a sadistic killer who wants to play a game before the murder begins. The Blackening is a great horror-comedy built on hilarious performances from the entire cast.

Terror Comes Knocking: The Marcela Borges Story (2025)

This film is based on the true story of the home invasion that Marcela Borges and her family endured for three days in 2009.

Armed men enter Marcela Borges’ home demanding $200,000. Held hostage in her own home, Marcela, who is pregnant, must take action to protect her family.

September 19

Haunted Hotel – Season 1 (2025)

Haunted Hotel was created by Matt Roller who has worked as a writer on Rick and Morty, Community, The Goldbergs, and Archer.

This adult animated series focuses on a single mother who runs a haunted hotel with the help of her brother (who is a ghost).

September 25

Alice in Borderland – Season 3 (2025)

A few of the cast members from seasons one and two are returning for season three, including Kento Yamazaki as Arisu, Tao Tsuchiya as Usagi, and Ayaka Miyoshi as Ann.

After leaving the games of the Borderlands behind, Arisu and Usagi are living happily ever after. That is, until Usagi disappears and Arisu is given the Joker card. Back in the Borderlands, Arisu and Usagi search for each other as they take on a new series of deadly games.

September 30

Interview With the Vampire – Season 2 (2024)

Season two originally aired on AMC in May and June of 2024.

Louis continues telling the story of his past, picking up after he and Claudia left Lestat. While in Europe, Louis meets the charismatic Armand.
