Shark Week has been a summer tradition for TV viewers in the United States. It’s a week-long celebration of sharks that the Discovery Channel started more than three decades ago. Shark Week—which, in 2024, occurs from July 7th to July 13th—consists of blocks of educational and/or entertaining programming focusing on one of the ocean’s most fascinating creatures.

Watching Discovery’s shark-themed programming will make you smarter about sharks, but sometimes maybe you just want something dumb. Something that you know is awful and in no way educational, but is a lot of fun. With a steady supply of shark-attack movies coming out every single year, there is no shortage of supremely stupid shark movies to watch during Shark Week, or anytime. Listed here are suggestions for a few of the dumbest shark movies you can stream for free right now on Tubi.

Unfortunately for them, an alien species is using a shark as a host for a scout to see if Earth is worth invading. The alien shark attacks, and Aleesha might be the planet’s only hope for survival.

House Shark (2017)

House Shark (2017)
For some reason lots of characters in House Shark have the names of United States presidents, and of people related to U.S. presidents.

A shark murders a babysitter on a toilet. Two months later, the house where the shark attack occurred is for sale, and the owner, Frank Roosevelt, is sleeping in a tent in his backyard, afraid of the “house shark” he’s failed to get rid of. Rifftrax Live: Sharknado (2014)

Rifftrax Live: Sharknado (2015)
Prior to Sharknado, Mike, Bill, and Kevin do a new riff of “A Case of Spring Fever,” a classic short as seen on Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Tubi has a good selection of Rifftrax’s movies, and the Rifftrax Live events are some of the most fun. In this live Rifftrax event from 2014, Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy provide hilarious commentary for Sharknado, one of the world’s most famous bad shark movies. If you enjoy Sharknado, then this version will make it better. And if you don’t like Sharknado, this will make it fun to watch.

Cocaine Shark (2023)

Cocaine Shark (2023)
The “cocaine shark” is really a half-crab/half-shark monstrosity.

One of the movies released in the wake of Cocaine Bear (2023), Cocaine Shark is a terribly silly film about a drug derived from sharks that causes mutations in test animals. The animals escape, and chaos ensues. For more information about just exactly what Cocaine Shark is and where it came from, check out the article we published about it last year.
