A New Sci-Fi Chiller is the Perfect Summer Horror Movie

Would you risk everything for the one you love?

Sci-fi horror thriller Lumina (2024) hits theaters this weekend.

Summer is the perfect season for enjoying a scary movie in theaters. Who wouldn’t want to take a break from the heat wave by escaping to a comfy seat inside an air-conditioned theater? Theaters are an immersive experience, letting viewers lose themselves in the film without the distraction of phones or the interruptions inevitable when watching at home. An added bonus for horror fans is that because suspense is most effective when we are glued to the screen, scares are always more impactful at the theater.

We’re planning our next trip to the cinema to see science-fiction conspiracy thriller Lumina, out on July 12. After his girlfriend disappears in a mysterious flash of light, Alex (Rupert Lazarus), his friend George (Ken Lawson) and others look for answers in the desert. Their search leads them toward a dangerous conspiracy involving military secrets and extraterrestrial threats. Whether they find Alex’s girlfriend or not, their lives will be forever changed by what they find in the desert.

Here’s the trailer:

Lumina is one part love story, one part conspiracy theory and one part sci-fi thrills. Get your tickets now and see Lumina in theaters on July 12.
