What is Onlyfangs About?

Onlyfangs (2025)
Adriana Uchishiba and Nina Lanee Kent in Onlyfangs.

Onlyfangs is the new vampire horror comedy from A & P Films, the makers of Murdercise!

Scarlett and her fellow female vampires move to a new city after they liberate themselves from the abusive control of a master vampire. Their plan is to live in the shadows as they feed on the blood of creeps and scumbags, but their lifestyle is threatened when the youngest vamp among them, Reese, is spotted mid-meal by an amateur monster hunter named Wes. Rather than fearing for his life, Wes excitedly pitches an idea: an app featuring pictures and videos of “hot vampire chicks” with an additional, authentic “vampire experience” for people willing to spend extra money (and blood). Onlyfangs successfully launches, but the exposure draws the attention of forces who would seek to destroy these powerful, independent vampires.

Onlyfangs was written and directed by Paul Ragsdale and Angelica De Alba. The main vamps are played by Nina Lanee Kent (Scarlett), Kansas Bowling (Reese), Adriana Uchishiba (Selena), and Meredith Mohler (Zooey). Wes is played by Drew Marvick, his sister Gwen is Jessa Flux, and his best friend Quentin is Shane Meyers. The full cast is extensive and entirely impressive. I’ve previously listed most of the main and supporting cast in my trailer preview from earlier this year, so please check that out.

Onlyfangs Review

Onlyfangs (2025)
Work sucks, be a vampire.

I’ve been talking about Onlyfangs for a long time here on Creepy Catalog. I’m a fan of the filmmaking duo behind the movie, Paul Ragsdale and Angelica De Alba, and I love the brand of horror and comedy they bring to modern independent cinema. I’ve followed the development of Onlyfangs ever since it was announced more than a year ago, and I was thrilled when I saw that the movie had its theatrical premiere in Modesto, California on October 18th. Though the film doesn’t have a full digital or physical release yet (it’s coming very soon), digital downloads of the movie purchased directly from the producers went online around the same time as the premiere. Sadly, October is my busiest month of the year, so I had to wait another two agonizing weeks before watching. But now that I’ve finally seen it, I’m happy to say that the wait was totally worth it. Onlyfangs is fantastic!

Onlyfangs (2025)
One of my favorite scream queens, Jessa Flux, co-stars in Onlyfangs!

One of the things I love most about Onlyfangs is how the love of genre shines through. The makers of the movie have been open about some of their biggest film inspirations. Movies like Fright Night, The Lost Boys, and From Dusk Till Dawn are mentioned by name in the Indiegogo campaign, and you can definitely see that in the final film. I also noticed references to The Vampire Lovers (which is actually mentioned in the movie), and maybe even little hints of Bordello of Blood, Elvira Mistress of the Dark, and more.

Onlyfangs (2025)
Wes (Drew Marvick) and Reese (Kansas Bowling) develop a fun relationship throughout the movie.

The overall feel of the movie is very much akin to something like the Tales from the Crypt TV series and movies. Maybe even more than that, Onlyfangs also feels like a modern interpretation of Full Moon Features between the late 1980s and early 2000s. And I mean that as a huge compliment. Onlyfangs is campy, funny, sexy, and bloody in a way that celebrates the freedom of independent movies.

Onlyfangs (2025)
Selena, Scarlett, and Zooey have a Coyote Ugly moment dancing atop a bar.

By “freedom,” I mean that movies like this can take bigger risks by focusing on a style and genre that might be too niche for bigger studios. I don’t know of another movie like Onlyfangs being made right now, though I do think this could start a new spicy-vampire trend. But the point is, I love it when you can feel the passion from filmmakers making the movie that they want to make. That inspires passion from fans, and that’s a beautiful thing.

Onlyfangs (2025)
The original vamp crew add more to their ranks as the movie progresses, including Eva (Bebe Bardot).

Onlyfangs is a low-budget indie film, but the scope of it is bigger than anything A & P Films have previously attempted. The story is more expansive, the cast is larger, and the production as a whole is quite ambitious. There are many ways the film could have spun out of control both in front of and behind the camera, but everything is held together impressively well.

Onlyfangs (2025)
Ellie Church plays a politician who takes action when she learns about Onlyfangs.

The story is, for the most part, tightly focused. There are a few subplots, and the existence of a wider world with conspiracies and other supernatural beings is mentioned, but the heart of the story is really about a group of women trying to maintain their autonomy while figuring out how to best use their power. The sexy vampire stuff is the medium by which that message is conveyed. The villains are painted with wider and less-defined strokes than the protagonists, but I don’t find fault in that. There’s plenty of drama between the protagonists, and the villains feel more like a collective force that will either push our heroes together, or drive them even further apart. It works.

Onlyfangs (2025)
Ronnie (Sarra Murray) closes in on her target.

Moving from big-picture stuff down to the details, Onlyfangs consistently looks great. The cinematography is excellent overall, and you can tell a great deal of attention was placed on creating iconic images and dramatic hero shots. A few of my favorite moments visually include Scarlett and Selena saving Reese at the beginning of the movie, the vamps hitchhiking, and the montage of vamps Eva and Ronnie riding a carousel and rollerskating down a hallway respectively.

Onlyfangs (2025)
Reese is a messy eater.

If you’re looking for blood, there’s plenty here. I wouldn’t say Onlyfangs is overly gory throughout, but when blood is spilled, it tends to gush. And splatter. I appreciate the practical effects and think they all work very well for the tone of the movie.

Onlyfangs (2025)
The Monster Boys are awesome, even if Gwen doesn’t think so.

There is one thing I didn’t like as much. It’s an issue I’ve mentioned in other reviews I’ve done of crowdfunded films, but an issue that I don’t have a good answer for. Towards the middle of the movie there’s a sequence of testimonials from fans of the Onlyfangs app, as well as clients, detractors, and even other vamps on the site. The whole sequence is rather long, and I feel like it slows down the momentum of the story significantly.

Onlyfangs (2025)
The cameos in Only fangs are always amusing. Little Puck shows up for a scene here as Regina, a wannabe vampire.

The filmmakers do a good job of putting in a few story moments and using split-screen to keep the vamps on-screen for almost the entire time during the testimonial sequence, but it still felt very slow to me. I assume that most of these testimonials are from real-life fans of A & P Films who donated at a high enough level to be in the movie. I don’t have an issue with that. It’s part of the business, and I know that Onlyfangs wouldn’t exist at the scale that it does without those crowdfunding dollars. Also, I’ve seen other movies handle remote roles like these way worse. Onlyfangs actually handles it well. I just had to mention it because without the on-screen role perks to fulfill, the information conveyed by the sequence probably would’ve taken about one-third of the time.

Onlyfangs (2025)
Scarlett and Selena react to Regina’s unabashed excitement about becoming a vampire.

But even that small hurdle didn’t kill the mood for me. The four leads—Nina Lanee Kent, Kansas Bowling, Drew Marvick, and Jessa Flux—are awesome, and their chemistry together is super-fun to watch. Adriana Uchishiba also stands out as Selena, a vampire filled with barely-bottled rage. And Little Puck’s cameo as the hopeful vampire Regina? Holy damn, she kind of steals the show. Goofy as heck, and completely hilarious! And that’s really an apt description for Onlyfangs as a whole. Goofy and hilarious, filled with heart and passion for the horror genre.

Rating and Recommendation

Onlyfangs (2025)
Tell your friends about Onlyfangs!

Star Rating: 4 out of 5

Onlyfangs is for fans of low-budget horror-comedies that feel like throwbacks to straight-to-video horror movies you might discover on a video-store shelf in the 80s or 90s. Or maybe one you stumbled upon by “accident” on Cinemax late at night. It’s also for fans of scream queens in the model of the era when women like Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, and Michelle Bauer ruled the independent horror scene (they’re not in this movie, but many of the women starring in Onlyfangs feel like a modern incarnation of those earlier stars). What I’m saying is, Onlyfangs is for fans of indie horror that delivers humor and horror along with a bit of blood and nudity.

You can currently watch Onlyfangs via a digital purchase made directly to the makers of the film through Paypal. If you have any questions, I’m sure you can have them answered through the Onlyfangs Instagram account.
