The Cycle Is Described as "The Thing Meets The Silence of the Lambs"

Deborah Ann Woll stars in The Cycle as an expert on how bodies decay, and she’s called in to help make sense of an unusual crime scene. The first problem is that one of the bodies is her estranged father. The second problem is that more people start dying.

The Cycle begins streaming on Shudder and AMC+ on October 23, 2026.

One of the featured quotes in the new trailer for the movie comes from Stephen King, who says that the movie is “a terrific fright flick—The Thing meets The Silence of the Lambs.”

In addition to Deborah Ann Woll (Daredevil, True Blood) starring as Dr. Meg Garland, Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice) and Will Hochman (Vought Rising, Blue Bloods) also star.

Jordan Downey directed The Cycle from a script he co-wrote with Kevin Stewart. That pair of filmmakers have collaborated previously on multiple projects, including The Head Hunter (2018) the “Stork” segment of V/H/S/Beyond.
