The reunion season landed. In the four days following its Sept. 24 premiere, the first three episodes of “American Horror Story: 13” pulled in roughly 4 million views across Hulu and Disney+ worldwide, FX says, making it the show’s biggest streaming premiere ever.
That’s FX’s own metric, total viewing minutes divided by runtime, which the network put at 476 million minutes of watch time. FX said the four-day haul beat Season 12’s “Delicate” in 2024 by 50 percent and nearly doubled the two premieres before that. The linear FX airing was much smaller at roughly 378,000 same-day viewers on Sept. 24, with most of the audience watching on streaming.

The charts backed up the turnout. Two days in, the season sat at No. 1 on Hulu in the U.S. against all content, movies included, and led Disney+’s TV chart. FlixPatrol had it No. 1 worldwide on Prime Video by Sept. 30.
Part of what brought people back: this is a reunion. Jessica Lange returns as Constance Langdon from the original Murder House, alongside Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd reprising old roles.
The appetite was already there. Nielsen found viewers streamed more than 7 billion minutes of the show on Hulu between May 2024 and August 2026, with no new episodes airing.
Critics are mostly on board, holding at 86% on Rotten Tomatoes across seven reviews, with much of the praise going to Lange. Audiences are harsher, sitting at 41% on the Popcornmeter, with complaints about roughly 30-minute episodes and a plot some called thin. Metacritic lands in the middle at 58 out of 100, “mixed or average,” from four critics.
