The movie is titled Survive: The Game, and it’s about a group of friends who find an ancient board game in an old cabin. As they play, “each roll of the dice brings a deadly fate to life, and the only way to survive is to finish the game” (that’s from the official description posted by Deadline).
Rohan Campbell starred in the divisive Halloween Ends, and many people seem to agree that Rohan Campbell was great in his role as Corey Cunningham, regardless of whether or not they like the movie. Olivia Holt starred in Heart Eyes as Ally, a marketing professional who becomes targeted by a Valentine’s Day killer. Also announced to star in Survive: The Game is Jaimie Alexander who plays Sif in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and who starred in the 2006 horror movie Rest Stop.
Scream queen Scout Taylor-Compton is directing Survive: The Game from a script she co-wrote with Michael Kennedy. Scout previously co-directed and starred in the recently-released horror movie Last Chance Motel. Scout’s career as a director is still in its early stages, and she is best known for her many appearances in horror movies, most notably in Rob Zombie’s Halloween movies, April Fool’s Day (2008), and Wicked Little Things (2006).
Scout’s co-writer, Michael Kennedy, contributed to the writing of Heart Eyes (2025), Time Cut (2024), It’s a Wonderful Knife (2023, for which he was the sole writer), and Freaky (2020).
Filming for Survive: The Game is currently underway in Spain.
Scout Taylor-Compton said in a statement published by Deadline, “I’ve played the final girl. I spent years learning what it takes to survive a horror movie: the running, the screaming, the moment you finally turn around and fight. With Survive: The Game, I wanted to ask a different question. What if the thing chasing you isn’t outside the door? What if surviving means confronting the worst version of yourself first?”
No release schedule has been announced yet.
