A ‘Conjuring’ Television Series Is Being Produced For HBO Max

A lot of Marvel writers are on this project.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga take a final turn as Ed and Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring: Last Rites, now in theaters.

This weekend the ninth and final Conjuring movie, The Conjuring: Last Rites, made history as it surpassed 2017’s It to become the biggest opening weekend in horror movie history. Now, a Conjuring television series that’s been in development since 2023 has taken a giant step forward.

The Conjuring: Last Rites is now in theaters.

Variety reports that Nancy Won has been hired as the series’ writer, executive producer and showrunner. Previously, she executive produced series like Sunny (2024), Tiny Beautiful Things (2023) and Little Fires Everywhere (2020) and wrote for a number of shows including Supernatural, Brothers & Sisters and Jessica Jones. Peter Cameron (Fantastic Four: First Steps) and Cameron Squires (Agatha All Along) are also on board as writers. James Wan’s Atomic Monster will also produce, as will Peter Safran who has previously produced some of the Conjuring movies.

HBO Max hasn’t commented yet on plot details for the Conjuring series. It’s unknown how closely the series will follow the movies or which of Ed and Lorraine Warren’s investigations will make it to the small screen.
