Above & Below looks like a cross between 47 Meters Down, Into the Blue, and the Tubi Original movie Great White Waters.
The story of Above & Below involves friends vacationing in Mexico. They’re offered a chance to go on a shark-cage diving excursion, but they eventually learn the real reason they’re out there. Two of the friends become stuck underwater with a dwindling air supply, criminals take over the boat, and there are drugs and sharks in the water.
Antonio Banderas stars as the leader of the criminals, and he’s joined in the cast by Christina Ochoa, Laura Marano, Timothy V. Murphy, Jess Liaudin, Ryan Bertroche, and Louis Mandylor.
Jesse V. Johnson (Triple Threat, The Package) directed Above & Below, and the script was written by Anthony Steven Giordano (Zombies! Zombies! Zombies!, Space Pups).
Above & Below became available to rent and buy digitally in the U.S. on August 25, 2026.
