August 5, 2025 – 6 New Horror Movies Streaming Today

Today’s new streaming horror options look like they could be fun in many different ways.

Sci-fi horror film The A-Frame is now streaming.

Today’s batch of new streaming movies includes a lot of supernatural horror, a bit of science fiction, a psychological thriller, and a meta-legacy sequel to a 40-year-old slasher. Take a look below for trailers, descriptions, and links to watch them all. Also be sure to keep up with our New and Upcoming Horror Movies tracker for where to watch all the newest movies released over the past twelve months.

Abraham’s Boys: A Dracula Story

Abraham’s Boys is now only available as a rental or purchase, but it will likely stream on Shudder within the next few months (though there’s no date yet).

For viewers who enjoy: movies inspired by Dracula, family drama, psychological and supernatural horror

Nearly two decades after the death of Dracula, Abraham Van Helsing lives in California with his wife Mina and his two sons, Max and Rudy. When signs point to the return of an old enemy, Abraham’s boys are forced to confront their parents’ dark past.

Sleep Stalker

Writers and directors Justin Shilton and Rob Zazzali previously worked together on the movie Shark Girl about a woman who starts acting like a shark.

For viewers who enjoy: found footage, haunted houses, spooky sleepwalking

A couple with an online home-improvement channel buy a house as a fixer-upper. They expected to have lots of projects around the house, but they didn’t expect one of those projects to be finding out what’s haunting them.

The A-Frame

The A-Frame was written and directed by Calvin Lee Reeder.

For viewers who enjoy: science fiction, medical horror, brief moments of body-horror

Donna has cancer, and she needs to have her arm amputated to stop the cancer’s spread. Before she goes through with the procedure, she meets a man who claims to have the cure for cancer by means of quantum physics. What could go wrong?

The Quiet Ones

The Quiet Ones was written and directed by Nicholas Winter.

For viewers who enjoy: influencer horror, psychological thrillers

Charlotte inherits an expensive home from her estranged father, but she also inherits his debts. To stay afloat financially, she and her friend Danni invite a trio of influencers into the house to monetize the property. But ego and ambition lead to blood and violence.

Killstreak

Killstreak stars Austin Mahone, Kendall Vertes, Antonio Ramos, Eliana Ghen, Montana Tucker, and Justin Wong.

For viewers who enjoy: screenlife movies, video game horror, supernatural horror

This screenlife movie (or is it a streamlife?) is about a group of streamers who realize that the game they’re playing is haunted. It’s also deadly. If they die in the game, they die for real.

Mutilator 2

Mutilator 2 has actually been available as Prime Video rental since last Friday (August 1st), but I thought it was an error because the release date they have listed in their metadata is September 1. I’ve seen Amazon launch movies early before and then take them down.

For viewers who enjoy: low-budget slashers, meta & legacy sequels, gore

Mutilator 2 is a meta-sequel that exists in a world where The Mutilator (1984) is just a movie. As a small film crew wraps production on a sequel to The Mutilator, a killer begins stalking the cast and crew. Buddy Cooper, the director of the original movie, returns to direct this sequel, giving him exactly two directing credits in his resume. Original cast members Bill Hitchcock and Ruth Martinez also return, playing fictionalized versions of themselves in this sequel.
