Charli xcx’s next screen appearance could put her inside a Martin Scorsese nightmare: she reportedly has a cameo in What Happens at Night, a psychological horror film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. Her character’s identity is still under wraps.
The story centers on an American married couple who travel to a small European town hoping to adopt a baby. As the adoption grows more unsettling, their sense of who they are and their understanding of their marriage begin to unravel.

Apple and StudioCanal are producing the Gothic thriller, with Mads Mikkelsen, Patricia Clarkson and Jared Harris also in the cast. DiCaprio and Lawrence previously starred together in Adam McKay’s 2021 satire Don’t Look Up.
The reported cameo would extend Charli’s move into film following her 2024 album Brat. She’s reportedly appeared in 7 films over the past 2 years.
Among her recent projects is The Moment, a satirical mockumentary directed by her frequent collaborator Aidan Zamiri. It follows a fictionalized version of Charli and examines celebrity branding and the music-business pressures surrounding Brat’s success.

Scorsese and DiCaprio’s previous films together include The Departed, Shutter Island and The Wolf of Wall Street. Their 2023 collaboration, Killers of the Flower Moon, received 10 Oscar nominations, including best picture. What Happens at Night doesn’t yet have an announced release date.
