A young woman who yearns to escape from her current life is pushed towards her “cursed” lineage in HER WILL BE DONE, now on VOD.
Nawojka is stuck in a small town, working a job she doesn’t want, with boorish brothers, and a gruff father. She’s also been told she’s cursed just like her dead mother. When an alluring woman comes into town, Naw’s life is changed forever.
Some of the write-ups for Her Will Be Done go into more detail than the above plot description, but I didn’t want to look too deeply into them because the trailer for this movie looks great. It’s described by some outlets as a folk horror movie, and some refer to exploitation-era films as a point of reference. That definitely sounds like something I’d be interested in.
Julia Kowalski directed Her Will Be Done, and she co-wrote it with Simon Beaufils. Maria Wróbel stars as Nawokja, and she’s joined in the main cast by Roxane Mesquida, Wojciech Skibinski, and Przemyslaw Przestrzelski.
Her Will Be Done is now streaming as a digital rental and purchase on major digital platforms in the U.S. including Prime Video, Apple TV, and more.
