The Shrouds

The Shrouds was written and directed by David Cronenberg, and it was initially inspired by his own grief after losing his wife Carolyn Zeifman.

The Shrouds tells the story of Karsh (Vincent Cassel) whom we meet about four years after the death of his wife. Karsh’s grief is deep, and that feeling of separation from his wife led him to inventing technology that allows people to view bodies in their graves in real time. When a graveyard using his tech is vandalized (which includes the grave of his wife), it sends Karsh down a conspiracy rabbit hole as he tries to figure out who did it and why.

Else

Else won numerous awards during its festival run, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Special Effects at Screamfest 2024.
