Three seasons of FROM land on Netflix in the U.S. on Oct. 19, a limited-time deal ahead of the fifth and final season, which hits MGM+ in 2027.

The show drops people into a town they can’t leave once they drive in. At night, smiling creatures walk out of the woods. Harold Perrineau plays Boyd Stevens, the town’s sheriff, and MGM+ calls the series the most-viewed in its history.

Stephen King watched early and couldn’t let it go. “Wonderful concept, beautifully handled,” he wrote.

“Is it possible these people are dead and don’t know it? That spike through the head…holy cow.” A month later he got blunter: “If you’re a horror fan and not watching FROM, you should get with it. Scary shit.”

Creator John Griffin says the idea was “seeded in the aftermath of 9/11,” out of the sense that “there is no permanence to the world that we live in.” He’s promised the finale won’t wander: “The ending will be the ending we initially imagined.”

Perrineau, who spent six seasons stranded on Lost, says the producers “didn’t want anyone from ‘Lost’ — they didn’t want to draw comparisons.” His reaction when they cast him anyway: “Are we going to go through this again?”
