This Weekend There’s a Killer Among Us
This weekend’s horror round up.
Hey Creepy Catalogers,
Scroll down for some creepy links. I really need everyone to be as perpetually aghast at OJ Simpson as I am.
I’m spending my weekend on Black Island (streaming on Netflix). It bills itself as a sexy teen thriller from Germany. I am a lil uncomfy with a “sexy” teen movie, but it’s European I guess? Anyway it’s about a group of students living on an island together. We have also been promised that some juicy dark secrets come out.
Two other streaming picks for this weekend:
Killer Among Us. Streaming on Prime. A horror movie about a young female cop trying to track down a serial killer.
Memories of a Murderer: The Nilson Tapes. Streaming on Netflix. Documentary about Scottish serial killer Dennis Nilsen who murdered 12 men and boys between 1978-1983. He speaks from tapes he recorded in his prison cell where he is serving a life sentence. It looks borderline too unsettling for me.
This week in horror:
- The Night House releases today.
- I present to you two OJ TikToks that demonstrate real life is stranger than fiction. Watch this one, and then this.
- Stephen King shared his recent favorite horror movies (one of them is The Clovehitch Killer).
- How ‘American Horror Stories’ Season 1 is a good example of queer representation.
Creepy reads:
- Drew Barrymore went on Hot Ones and confirmed a decades old rumor about her grandfather’s body being stolen from the morgue.
- Date night idea: watch some haunted house movies and make contact with the dead. Bonus points for a pretty candle.
- Some pretty interesting fan theories from horror movies and beyond.
Happy streaming and stay spooky!!
