In the creepypasta “The Third Parent,” written by Elias Witherow, Tommy Taffy is a man with an odd, uncanny valley appearance. He shows up at a family’s house one night, and then proceeds to force himself in as the “third parent” of the household. The story is sufficiently creepy, and it gets rather disturbing in some of what it depicts Tommy doing.
In the original story and its prequels/sequels, it is explained that the Tommy Taffy character has done similar abusive things to families in the past. There is a film adaptation of “The Third Parent” coming out in 2027, and the first teaser for the movie shows a series of images with locations and dates attached to them. Apparently Tommy Taffy, or whatever entity he represents, has been performing some similar sort of family torture for thousands of years.
The teaser’s opening gallery runs from an Italian family all the way up to the present day in Atlanta, according to ComingSoon.it, which describes the images as presenting Tommy Taffy as a curse handed down since antiquity that strikes families seemingly at random.
The movie will be written and directed by David Michaels, and it stars Rob Lowe, Roselyn Sánchez, and Crispin Glover as Tommy Taffy.
The Third Parent is currently scheduled for release on January 22, 2027.
