Tyra Banks was promised a memorable death scene when she signed on for Halloween: Resurrection. The 2002 slasher ended up showing only a brief glimpse of her character’s body, with the full scene cut from the movie.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Banks said an unnamed agent had sold her on 2 potential rewards: an acting breakthrough and a death scene audiences would remember. She said she was “promised the career of Josh Hartnett, of an actor, and promised an iconic death scene that will last forever, and neither of them happened”.

Banks had initially turned down the pitch. She was a model trying to build an acting career and questioned how the role would help. The agent pointed to Hartnett, who’d played John Tate in 1998’s Halloween H20, as an example of what appearing in the franchise could do for her.
She accepted the role of Nora Winston, a producer working on a livestreamed show involving teenagers trying to escape Michael Myers. Looking back on the outcome, Banks told Entertainment Weekly: “Not only did it not do anything for me, they cut the damn death scene.”
Rick Rosenthal directed Halloween: Resurrection, which also starred Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, Brad Loree as Michael Myers and Busta Rhymes as Freddie Harris. The film earned $37.6 million worldwide against a $15 million budget.
Asked whether she remembers making the movie fondly, Banks said: “No. Not even a little bit. Like, not even a tiny bit.”
