A new trailer for the fourth and final season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has been released. According to AMC, the final season premieres in February 2027, exclusively on AMC and AMC+.

The trailer starts by showing clips from the original The Walking Dead series highlighting how Daryl and Carol’s bond grew over the course of the series.

After the main series ended, Daryl (Norman Reedus) got his own spinoff/continuation series. He left the safety of the Commonwealth to search for signs of Rick and Michonne, and he ended up being taken, unwillingly, to France. He’s been searching for his way home ever since, but there have been many obstacles and enticements along the way.

Carol (Melissa McBride) started her search for Daryl by the end of season one, and she joined the show full time in season two. Together, Carol and Daryl make a formidable team. There have been some bumps on the road for them, but they always come back together.

I’ve watched The Walking Dead since the beginning (I read the comics before that, but Carol is VERY different there, and Daryl doesn’t even exist), and Daryl and Carol are my favorite duo. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is probably the best spinoff as well.

Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride work so well together, and they’ve inhabited these characters for so long that I hope they get a fitting sendoff. There aren’t many happy endings in the world of The Walking Dead, but those two deserve to get one.
