Wilderness Tapes: Volume One

Wilderness Tapes: Volume One
Pete finds some gold, but he’s also about to find out why nobody who visits this particular gold mine has been able to tell their tale.

Star Rating: 2.5 out of 5

Released digitally on January 1, 2026 | Stream on Found

Wilderness Tapes: Volume One is a decently entertaining found footage movie. It doesn’t stray too far from the expected tropes of the genre, but it performs them well. The story follows a man, “Prospector” Pete Burke, as he explores an abandoned gold mine. The mine is known to be connected with supposed occult activity, and there was a deadly accident there more than a century ago, so you might see where the story is headed. You probably will make a lot of accurate predictions about the story, but it’s still a fun and entertaining movie for fans of the genre.

Tony Todd in Cutter's Club
The Raven is one of the few remaining films that Tony Todd worked on that have yet to be released. Hopefully we’ll get a trailer for The Raven soon. (pictured: Tony Todd in Cutters Club, a movie that began production in 2005, and was released in 2025.)
  • The Raven, which features a performance from the late Tony Todd, will be released on VOD on January 16th. (Deadline)
  • Variety predicts that Sinners will receive 15 nominations at this year’s Academy Awards. That would break the all-time record for nominations which is 14 (held by All About Eve, La La Land, and Titanic). Official nominations will be announced on January 22nd.
  • GKIDS has acquired Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom for release this October. The stop-motion animated film is about a farmer who accidentally ruins a pumpkin patch, and a beast that appears when Shaun the Sheep tries to fix everything. (Variety)
