If you loved Fear Street: Prom Queen, or if you just love teen slasher movies in general, here are some perennial slasher hits that are currently streaming on Netflix.

The masked killer in Fear Street: Prom Queen (2025).

Fear Street: Prom Queen is Netflix’s new slasher movie based on the Fear Street books by R.L. Stine. It is the fourth installment of the Fear Street saga, and the first since the original trilogy was released in summer 2021. Prom Queen sees Shadyside High School preparing for the 1988 prom. Amidst a competitive race for the the title of Prom Queen, the school’s popular girls start disappearing.

If you loved Fear Street: Prom Queen, or if you just love teen slasher movies in general, here are some perennial slasher hits that are currently streaming on Netflix:

The original ‘Fear Street’ trilogy (2021)

Each of the three original Fear Street movies embraces a different horror subgenre, with 1978 being inspired by Friday the 13th (1980).

This trilogy introduces the cursed town of Shadyside, which residents jokingly refer to as “the murder capital of the United States.” The town’s curse is said to be a result of one of the town’s earliest residents, Sarah Fier, who is believed to have been a witch. The second movie in the trilogy in particular, Fear Street Part Two: 1978, is set at a summer camp and emulates the summer camp slasher movies subgenre. All three films are great and obviously closely related to Prom Queen, but 1978 in particular is a fun teen slasher movie that will be most similar.

There’s Someone Inside Your House (2021)

A masked killer exposes high school gossip in There’s Someone Inside Your House.

A student transfers from Hawaii to small town Nebraska to finish her senior year. Far from boring, she finds herself at the center of a murder mystery at her new school when someone not only begins killing her classmates, but exposing their secrets as well. Will the new girl live until graduation?

Scream VI (2023)

Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding as the “core four” in Scream VI.

One year after the brutal murders in Scream (2022), a new Ghostface killer catches up with the survivors after they’ve left Woodsboro for college in the city. This Scream sequel is set in New York City and mostly features characters who are attending college, but as recent high school grads three of the “core fore” are still teens. It’s also interesting to see a slasher movie venture away from the typical isolated setting of a horror movie (ex: a cabin in the woods) and show what a slasher movie looks like in a densely populated city where everyone can hear you scream.

Fear Street: Prom Queen is now streaming on Netflix.
