Our #1 streaming pick for this weekend is the brand new installment in the iconic V/H/S series, V/H/S/Beyond, premiering on Shudder on AMC+ Oct. 4. This sequel features six segments and a frame story set in a “sci-fi hellscape”. Husband and wife Mike Flanagan and Kate Siegel have collaborated on numerous projects since Oculus (2013) and Siegel will make her directorial debut with the “Stowaway” segment, which was written by Flanagan. Scream King Justin Long will also make his directorial debut with the “Fur Babies” segment, which he wrote and directed with his brother Christian Long.
Major talent has come up through the V/H/S films including Chloe Okuno who wrote and directed the “Storm Drain” segment in V/H/S/94 (Hail Raatma) before writing and directing the feature film Watcher (2022), which is currently our all time favorite horror movie directed by a woman. Both V/H/S/94 (2021) and Watcher (2022) are among the hundreds of horror movies streaming on Shudder on AMC+ this month.
