‘Director’s Cut’ (2024) Trailer Unveils an Indie Slasher Movie You’re Going to Want to See

Director’s Cut (2024) sees a punk rock band venture into the woods of P.A. to film a music video, never to return.

Onetencrew Films promises a wild, suspenseful, bloody ride with its upcoming slasher Director’s Cut. The movie is writer-director Don Capria’s feature directorial debut, whose previous works include the award-winning short Eulogy (2014) and the horror short Anecdota (2021). Leveraging his experience in the music industry, Capria brings to life a chilling story about a Long Island punk band with a mysterious past whose big dreams turn into a terrifying nightmare of unimaginable proportions.

Louis Lombardi (“The Sopranos,” “Suicide Kings,” “24”), also a producer behind the project, stars as Mr. Director, who offers to shoot the musical group’s first music video at no charge, after meeting on social media. Of course, it’s an opportunity that the band absolutely cannot refuse. So, the musicians travel five hours deep into the Pennsylvania woods, eager to create something that will help catapult them into fame. Little do they know, it won’t be their “big moment,” but a trip from which they’ll never return.

According to the official synopsis, tensions rise after a long night of drinking. The band tries to leave from what can be seen in the trailer, but goes back from what is shown in the teaser. This proves to be a huge mistake when they become the stars of the deranged director’s very own snuff horror film, never to be seen or heard from again.

Lucy Hart, Danielle Kotch, Tyler Ivey, Greg Poppa, Louis Rocky Bacigalupo, Brandy Ochoa, Haley Cassidy, and Darrin Hickok are also among the cast. The film is edited by Noah Marks, with Bliss Bussant working magic as director of photography.

The indie’s unique premise sounds unlike anything that has ever been crafted in the genre, indicating a must-watch for lovers of horror and punk alike. In a recent Instagram post, Capria shared, “When writing this horror, I wanted to make it a cautionary tale. I’ve managed a lot of artists in my lifetime and sometimes their decision making can be fatal. For these kids it definitely is.”

The movie screened at the Chicago Horror Film Festival, and is headed to the Bushwick Film Festival on October 18. It opens exclusively in select cinemas on October 31, so mark your calendars. If you’re looking to go to the theater for something creepy to watch on Halloween, you should check out your local showings. A VOD release is soon to follow.

You’re going to want to be seated for this Director’s Cut after checking out the intense trailer, which will leave you hungry for more. From the looks of those unnerving two minutes, Mr. Director is set to become one of this year’s most unhinged villains—watch out, Art the Clown. This is definitely a Rock ‘n’ Murder show you don’t want to miss from a filmmaker whose passion for cinema and music shines through.
