Every Horror (and horror-adjacent) Movie and Show Streaming on Peacock in August 2025

Twisted Metal, Borderline, and the return of M3GAN highlight this months new offerings on Peacock.

Samoa Joe and Will Arnett return to bring Sweet Tooth to life in season two of Twisted Metal!

Peacock has a pretty decent lineup of new and returning horror and dark-thriller movies streaming in August. Listed below is everything that they’ve announced so far, separated into sections by the date they’ll be released.

July 31-August 28

Yes, this is an article about August and I’m beginning with a date in July, but that’s because most of the episodes of season 2 of Twisted Metal will be released during August.

I wasn’t sure what to think of Twisted Metal before the first season aired, but I ended up enjoying it quite a lot! As a big fan of the games though, I was a little disappointed when I realized that the first season wasn’t going to have Calypso and the car-combat competition that the games are all about. But season two will focus on the tournament, and I can’t wait!

Anthony Mackie (John Doe), Stephanie Beatriz (Quiet), and “Samoa” Joe Seanoa (Sweet Tooth, voiced by Will Arnett) all return for Twisted Metal season 2. Joining the cast as Calypso is Anthony Carrigan, an actor I best know as Victor Zsasz in the Gotham TV series, and who was most recently in the new Superman movie.

The release schedule for Twisted Metal is as follows:

  • July 31 – Episodes 1-3
  • August 7 – Episodes 4 & 5
  • August 14 – Episodes 6 & 7
  • August 21 – Episodes 8 & 9
  • August 28 – Episodes 10-12

August 1

Borderline was written and directed by Jimmy Warden, the writer of Cocaine Bear.

Borderline is Peacock’s newest dark-thriller offering in August. The film is set in the 1990s, and it stars Samara Weaving as a pop star named Sofia. She has a stalker, Paul (Ray Nicholson), who has delusions about marrying her. Paul has been institutionalized ever since he tried breaking into Sofia’s home the first time, but now he’s escaped custody. With two friends in tow, Paul returns to Sofia’s mansion with the intention of finally tying the knot.

Here are all of the horror/near-horror thrillers streaming on Peacock on August 1st:

  • Borderline (2025)
  • The Faculty (1998)
  • Happy Death Day (2017)
  • Ma (2019)
  • Seven (1995)
  • Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013)
  • Victor Frankenstein (2015)

August 24

The unrated cut is better.

M3GAN returns to Peacock in both its PG-13 and unrated editions. If you want to see a detailed list of all the differences between the two cuts of the film, I wrote an article about it when M3GAN: Unrated started streaming on Peacock the first time. Check it out here: M3GAN: Unrated Differences: A List of Everything Changed and Added in the Unrated Version
