Netflix Is Blessing Us With A New Horror Movie This Weekend
New from the team that created Creep, Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring.
Hey Creepy Catalogers,
Here’s the best horror streaming this weekend:
Best of Netflix:
There’s Someone Inside Your House. Out today (2/26), Netflix is blessing us with a new murder mystery movie this weekend based on the best-selling Young Adult horror novel of the same name. The film adaptation seems super promising because of how well the book was received. One reviewer compared the book to an “homage to classic slasher movies like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer.” James Wan, co-creator of the Saw and Insidious franchises and creator of the Conjuring franchise, produced the adaptation. Patrick Brice, who directed Creep and Creep 2 directed.
Best of Hulu:
Gemini. A thriller about a dead Hollywood starlet and her new assistant. You can pair this murder mystery with Netflix’s new release (see above) and have a themed horror night. 😈
Best of Prime:
Saint Maud. A horror movie about a hospice nurse who tries to share her faith and “save” her dying patient’s soul but becomes frustrated when her patient doesn’t believe. I wish I had seen more horror movies this year so it would be more meaningful when I say it’s the best horror movie I’ve seen this year. If you’ve liked other A24 movies, you’ll love this one. It’s free to watch but you have to sign up for a trial of Amazon’s “Epix” channel.
This week’s Horror Happenings:
- There’s even more drama about Cyberpunk 2077.
- A creepy detail in Get Out that most people missed.
- She died of 20 stab wounds. Police call it “suicide”.
- Crazy instances of people living a “double life”.
- Robot movies that will make you fear the singularity.
- The real reason there’s so much sex in slasher movies.
Stay spooky!!! 👻
