What is Creeptober?

Creeptober is our month-long movie marathon where we invite you to watch along with us! It’s a celebration of 31 horror movies we love to watch during the Halloween season, and we want you to join us. Throughout October, we’ll be posting about one movie each day here on CreepyCatalog.com and on our social media platforms. Here’s what to expect each day in October:
- A review/reaction to the Creeptober Movie of the Day (see the full list below) in our daily digest.
- Conversation starters posted daily on our Facebook page.
- Additional clips/memes on our other social accounts including Instagram and TikTok.

Where to Stream Every Movie
Here is a list of all 31 Creeptober movies, along with links for where you can stream each one. The buttons point to some of the more popular streaming platforms, but we’ve also included a link to JustWatch.com for each movie so you can find other places to watch.
Oct. 1: Halloween (1978)

Halloween on JustWatch
It’s the quintessential Halloween movie, so of course we’re beginning Creeptober with the original Halloween. If you’re like us, you’ve seen this about a hundred times, but it’s so perfect that it’s always worth watching. It’s also the exact right mood-setter for October.
Oct. 2: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre on JustWatch
Another classic, and another great mood-setter for the season. We wanted to start the marathon with a couple of all-timers, so The Texas Chain Saw Massacre feels like a natural followup to Halloween.
Oct. 3: Sinners (2025)

Sinners on JustWatch
Sinners is one of the best movies of the year, so when looking for new films to include in the list, it was an easy choice.
Oct. 4: Bring Her Back (2025)

Bring Her Back on JustWatch
Bring Her Back is our current pick for the best horror movie of 2025. This one can get under your skin if you let it.
Oct. 5: V/H/S/Halloween (2025)
V/H/S/Halloween on JustWatch
V/H/S is a yearly tradition at this point, so of course we have to watch the newest installment in the franchise.
Oct. 6: Maniac (1980)

Maniac on JustWatch
Maniac has a bit of splatter and a bit of psychological horror, and it’s one of the most captivating slashers of the 1980s. It might make you feel dirty after watching, but that’s the intention.
Oct. 7: American Mary (2012)

American Mary on JustWatch
Katharine Isabelle is a genre icon, and American Mary is one of her best movies.
Oct. 8: Carrie (1976)

Carrie on JustWatch
Carrie has near-universal acclaim for good reason. It’s a classic that everyone needs to see at least once.
Oct. 9: Suspiria (1977)

Suspiria on JustWatch
Suspiria is a visual and auditory marvel with an incredible style.
Oct. 10: The Blackcoat’s Daughter (2015)

The Blackcoat’s Daughter on JustWatch
With the increased prominence of Osgood Perkins over the past couple of years, now is the perfect time to revisit his feature directing debut.
Oct. 11: Scream (1996)

Scream on JustWatch
Scream never gets old. It might be the most perfectly paced slasher movie of all time. It’s definitely one of the best.
Oct. 12: Urban Legend (1998)

Urban Legend on JustWatch
Some contemporary reviews lambasted Urban Legend for being an imitation of Scream, but is that really a bad thing?
Oct. 13: Wrong Turn (2003)

Wrong Turn on JustWatch
Wrong Turn is one of the best backwoods horror movies of the early 2000s, an era of horror that doesn’t always get enough love or attention.
Oct. 14: The Cabin in the Woods (2011)

The Cabin in the Woods on JustWatch
Smart and silly in equal measures, The Cabin in the Woods is a blast.
Oct. 15: Dead Dudes in the House (1989)

Dead Dudes in the House on JustWatch
This is a personal favorite that some people might find very dumb, but “dumb” does not mean “bad” or “boring.” Dead Dudes in the House is lots of fun.
Oct. 16: Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things (1972)

Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things on JustWatch
Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things is a comedy, until it isn’t. It’s about a theater troupe who try to raise the dead, but they’re not prepared for what happens when their ritual actually works.
Oct. 17: The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018)

The Strangers: Prey at Night on JustWatch
With the release of The Strangers: Chapter 2, it’s worth going back to take a look at the sequel to the original and seeing which is a better followup.
Oct. 18: Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

Bride of Frankenstein on JustWatch
Which is better: Frankenstein or Bride of Frankenstein. That’s a difficult question to answer. All we know is that Bride is excellent, and that’s the one we’re watching for Creeptober.
Oct. 19: The Night of the Hunter (1955)

The Night of the Hunter on JustWatch
The Night of the Hunter is a fantastic film that is regularly found in “best of” lists. We’ve paired it with Bride of Frankenstein because the two movies do have a connection. The director of The Night of the Hunter, Charles Laughton, was married to the Bride herself, Elsa Lanchester.
Oct. 20: What Lies Beneath (2000)

What Lies Beneath on JustWatch
Any Halloween movie marathon needs a few good ghost stories, and What Lies Beneath begins a triple-feature of supernatural spookiness.
Oct. 21: The Haunting (1963)

The Haunting on Justwatch
Is The Haunting the best haunted house movie ever made? Yeah, probably.
Oct. 22: A Tale of Two Sisters (2003)

A Tale of Two Sisters on JustWatch
Few movies blend psychological and supernatural horror as well as A Tale of Two Sisters.
Oct. 23: Demons (1985)

Demons on JustWatch
A Halloween movie marathon needs some good gore, and Demons delivers that and more.
Oct. 24: Creepshow (1982)

Creepshow on JustWatch
Creepshow is pure fun all the way through (well, except maybe for the final story).
Oct. 25: The Blair Witch Project (1999)

The Blair Witch Project on JustWatch
The Fall vibes are immaculate in The Blair Witch Project. It’s also the prototypical found-footage movie (not the first, but the one most imitated).
Oct. 26: REC (2007)

REC on JustWatch
Claustrophobic and intense, REC is a found footage masterpiece.
Oct. 27: Murder Party (2007)

Murder Party on JustWatch
Jeremy Saulnier has directed a couple of the best modern thrillers with Blue Ruin (2013) and Green Room (2015). Highlighting his diversity as a filmmaker is Murder Party, a wildly funny comedy about a Halloween party that is actually an attempt to make art out of murder.
Oct. 28: Slither (2006)

Slither on JustWatch
James Gunn might be making blockbusters now, but his feature-film directing debut is just as fun as any of his superhero movies.
Oct. 29: Inside (2007)

Inside on JustWatch
Since the movie takes place on Christmas Eve, Inside is our twisted way of signalling the looming start of the Christmas season.
Oct. 30: Hereditary (2018)

Hereditary on JustWatch
Regardless of what Ari Aster has done since Hereditary, this is still one of the most gripping horror movies in the modern era.
Oct. 31: Hell House LLC: Lineage (2025)
Hell House LLC: Lineage on JustWatch
The last movie in the Hell House LLC franchise isn’t found footage, but is it good? If you missed it in theaters, we’ll find out together when it begins streaming at the end of Creeptober.
