Actor Jack Haven has taken to social media with an unusual pitch: they need to book $4,000 in SAG work before the end of the month, and they’re asking anyone who can hire them to get in touch. The appeal points at a common SAG-AFTRA reality: recognizable credits don’t guarantee the covered-earnings floor needed to keep union health coverage from one year to the next.
Haven laid out the math in the appeal. The goal is to qualify for the SAG union’s health insurance starting in January. Jack’s not picky about the gig. “I will do pretty much any job,” running through the list: they can sing, dance, talk softly or loudly, and do accents, including British.
The one requirement is that it be a SAG production paying $4,000. Jack points anyone who can hire them to an email address for a company they call We Are Scab Productions.
Haven, 32, is best known as Casey Gardner on Netflix’s Atypical (2017-2021) and as Maddy Wilson in Jane Schoenbrun’s I Saw the TV Glow (2024), the performance that drew the most recent critical attention and award nominations. They also play Little Death in Schoenbrun’s Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma (2026), which won the Queer Palm at Cannes, and Billie Logan in Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020), with supporting turns in The Glass Castle, Bombshell, Downsizing, and Irrational Man.
