One of the most memorable villains in horror is Chris Hargensen from Carrie (1976).
In Stephen King’s novel Carrie and its various adaptations, Chris (Christine Hargensen) serves as the main antagonist and the vicious ringleader of the high school clique that torments Carrie White.

As a spoiled, wealthy, and cruel teenager, Chris leverages her father’s influence as a prominent lawyer to evade consequences for her malicious behavior. She is the driving force behind the brutal locker room shaming when Carrie gets her first period, and she later masterminds the infamous prom prank to dump pig’s blood on Carrie alongside her delinquent boyfriend, Billy Nolan.
Chris ultimately meets a gruesome fate during Carrie’s telekinetic massacre when Carrie crashes Billy’s car into a gas station as the couple attempts to run her down.
Over the years, the character has been brought to life by several actresses, including Nancy Allen in Brian De Palma’s iconic 1976 film, Emilie de Ravin in the 2002 television film, Portia Doubleday in the 2013 remake, and Alison Thornton in the 2026 Prime Video series.
