A Party Turns into a Survival Game in the Indian Action Horror Movie #CULT, Now Playing in Limited Theaters

#CULT is marketed as India’s first slasher movie, but I have my doubts that it’s an actual slasher film. It looks very violent and bloody with many deaths, but it really looks more like an action-horror survival game movie.

From one of the reviews I found, the setup of the story involves the son of an elected official who throws a lavish birthday party. During the festivities, a “digital doll” appears on a screen and informs everyone that they must play a game or die. Panic ensues, and blood is spilled.

#CULT is from director Vishwak Sen who also stars in and wrote the movie. Gayatri Bharadwaj, Tarak Ponnapa, Murali Sharma, Srikanth Iyenger, Karthikeya, Anirudh Bhaskar, EZY, Yagnya Turlapati, Kabeer Bhartiya, Vishak Nair, and Chepuri Vivek are also featured in the cast.

I just found out about #CULT, and I see that it opened in theaters worldwide on October 30. It’s in select theaters in the U.S. now.
