Adria Arjona stars in Onslaught as a former Army sniper who fights to protect her daughter from genetically-engineered super soldiers who descend upon her neighborhood.
Onslaught is from director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett, the same creative team that brought us Blair Witch (2016), You’re Next (2011), and The Guest (2014). Onslaught is actually set within the same universe as The Guest, and it explores similar ideas.
The general consensus among reviews seems to be that the action and grindhouse-style thrills are highly entertaining, though the story might be lacking for some viewers. Personally, if the action is good enough, then a basic story is all I really need. Plus, Reginald VelJohnson is in it, and he automatically adds a few points to the review of any movie he’s in.
Onslaught is now available to rent and buy digitally on major platforms including Prime Video, Fandango at Home, and more. It’s currently set at premium VOD prices for rentals.
