For one night, Curry Barker’s horror hit “Obsession” comes back to Regal in CJ 4DPlex’s 4DX format on Wednesday, October 14, with motion seats plus wind, water, fog, strobes, and scents timed to the movie. The booking is part of Regal’s “31 Screams on Screen” Halloween series, paired that night with “Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer,” and the premium-format rerelease is excluded from the series’ $7.99 ticket price.

The 4DX pass doesn’t recut or rescan the film. It’s a body-effects track running in sync with the existing digital presentation, and the specific effects programmed for “Obsession” haven’t been detailed.
Barker made the movie independently for about $750,000, and Focus Features bought it after TIFF 2025 for $15 million. It opened in the U.S. on May 15, 2026, and has since scared up $263 million domestically and $520 million worldwide.

The plot: a music-store clerk breaks a novelty object called the One Wish Willow to make his crush love him, gets exactly that wish, and then pays for it. Bear is played by Michael Johnston and Nikki by Inde Navarrette, while Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter fill out the rest of the cast.
On the 4DX version, Barker said, “Films like these are a big part of why I wanted to become a filmmaker, and I’m thrilled that audiences will have a chance to experience these on a big screen together, alongside the new 4DX version of OBSESSION.”
Tickets are on sale now.
