Dark Comedy Slasher Short ‘Half-O-Ween’ is Looking for Support from Dedicated Horror Fans
Halloween celebrations, like slasher movies, are good at any time of year.

If you’re reading this, then there’s a good chance you’re like me and appreciate the increased presence of the Halloween season throughout the non-October months of the year. “Halfway to Halloween” is becoming more of an established holiday every year, and I love it. Filmmakers Stephen Wolfe and Tim Robinson seem to feel the same way, because they’re making a movie about it!
Half-O-Ween is an upcoming short film set during the Summerween season. Camille White is a horror fanatic who just wants to watch Cadaver Carl’s Half-O-Ween Double Feature on TV, but her boyfriend Jeremy chose tonight to dump her. To make matters worse, Cam’s supremely annoying landlords barge in on her night of heartache with some chilling news: a serial killer has escaped from custody and is in the area. With Cam trapped inside her house with her ex and her two scummy landlords, the thought of a vicious murderer arriving might not be as bad as it sounds.
Director Stephen Wolfe and co-star/producer Tim Robinson describe Half-O-Ween as a dark comedy slasher that feels like something from A24 or Neon, crossed with the extreme horror of movies like Terrifier and Halloween Kills. That definitely sounds promising.
The main cast features Lestonja Diaz (Out of Body, Resuttektor) as Cam, Tim Robinson (10/31 Part 2, Dracula’s Coffin) as Jeremy, and Sara Gaston and Joe Grisaffi as landlords Winnie and Vern.
Stephen Wolfe (Doll Factory, Dracula’s Coffin) is directing from a script by Mike McPherson (10/31 Part 2). Cinematography will be handled by David Gordon who worked on the recently released 825 Forest Road, and The Veil from 2023. Makeup effects will be done by Ryan and Selina Ward of Little Shop of Gore. Tim Robinson is producing along with P.J. Starks (we recently did an interview with P.J.).
If you want to know more, check out the Indiegogo campaign for Half-O-Ween that recently began. As of this writing, there are 48 days left to support the film, but don’t wait until the last minute. Once the goal is reached, most of the stretch goals promise bigger, better, and bloodier death scenes! Plus, the perks for supporting the project are solid. My go-to Blu-ray perk is there, but the VIP Bloody Finale Bundle is looking pretty good too. And if you can’t contribute this time, please share the campaign if you’re able.
