Nutter Butter Is Posting Creepy Reels Filled with Disembodied Cookie Heads and Dolls

Nutter Butter is turning its social feeds into a surreal horror series. Its reels feature cookie heads with human mouths, peanut-butter-smeared dollhouses, disembodied eyes and a masked, top-hatted character called the Nutter Butter Man.

The campaign is deliberately confusing. The creative team leaves gaps in the story so viewers can invent theories, then draws from those ideas as the characters and lore continue across new posts. The horror posts grew out of a deliberate change in direction in 2023, when Nutter Butter moved beyond typical brand memes; it still hasn’t confirmed how the recurring characters and clues fit together.

A Nutter Butter spokesperson explained the approach in 2024: “Nutter Butter embraces its nuttiness, departing from a perfectly curated feed to experiment with the surreal side of the internet.”
