One of 2025’s Best Horror Movies Will Hit Netflix This Saturday (Sept. 20)
“Remember we must die.”

While Netflix’s horror selection can be pretty sparse at times, they’re loading up in anticipation of Halloween. This weekend, one of the biggest horror movies of the year will join Netflix’s catalog. That movie is 28 Years Later.
28 Years Later is a post-apocalyptic horror movie and the third installment in the 28 Days Later franchise. 28 years after the Rage virus decimated Europe, the British isles are still quarantined. A community has endured on a small island connected to the mainland by a causeway that appears at low tide. 12-year-old Spike accompanies his dad on a mission to the mainland that is part of a coming-of-age ritual. After getting his first kill of an infected, the two return to their village and celebrate.
However, Spike is not content with life in his community. He sneaks out and travels back to the mainland in hopes of finding a doctor who may be able to help his ailing mother. He must keep her safe as they travel through the hunting grounds of a dangerous “Alpha” infected.
Note: 28 Years Later will not be included in Netflix’s lowest tier plan. If you have ads on your Netflix, you will not be able to stream 28 Years Later.
The original 28 Days Later (2002) will join Netflix on Friday and 28 Years Later (2025) hits Netflix on Saturday, September 20.
