This looks incredibly fun! Stellar Web looks like it’s trying to emulate the looks and feel of the many super-low-budget Alien-ripoff films of the 1980s and 1990s. The story is about a colonial settlement spaceship that stops on a planet for fuel, and it accidentally picks up deadly spiders that threaten the entire crew.
Stellar Web was written and directed by Brett William Mauser (Lady Lawman, Serial Rabbit One), and it stars Christopher Henry, Sergio Cantu, Lisa Butala, Cliff Dean, and Melissa Dawn Smith.
Looking at the trailer, there are some digital effects, but it also looks like many practical effects were used. Including miniature if I’m not mistaken. This is exactly the kind of thing I love, so Stellar Web has rocketed to the top of my must-watch list for the week.
You can rent and buy Stellar Web now on Prime Video.
