Welcome to Spooky Season

It’s the best time of the year.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer

Hi Creep Crew,

It’s officially horror movie season and the celeb gossip account @deuxmoi dropped this delicious blind item about horror in 2022:

“The rumors about this A list actor with sweet moves returning to horror after 20+ years are true. He will be joining the cast of this horror movie that will be filming soon.”

My guesses are Kevin Bacon or John Travolta. I’m really hoping it’s NOT Tom Cruise though I GUESS I would take a return to where we left off on Lestat and Louis’ stories.

Netflix and Prime have both added a handful of new horror movies for the month. HBO Max has added all the Final Destination movies and all the Harry Potter movies. Here’s the best of what you can stream this weekend:

Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Streaming on Prime. Start spooky season right with a classic horror movie that has scared audiences for generations. The 1978 remake is streaming free on Prime and it is the best of all the Body Snatchers movies by a wide margin. If you’ve somehow missed this iconic corner of science fiction and horror history, Invasion of the Body Snatchers is about covert alien invasion where real humans are replaced by their alien duplicate. It’s where the phrase “pod person” comes from.

Level 16. Streaming on Netflix. Just added this month, Level 16 is a scary sci-fi flick about an all girls boarding school with a creepy hidden purpose. Each level of the school corresponds to the students who live there starting with Level 0. The girls at Level 16 are 16-year-olds in their final year at the school.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer. Streaming on Netflix. One of my all time favorite creepy movies. This is an A24 thriller with Collin Farrell and Nicole Kidman about a family targeted by a teenage boy who wants revenge. This is definitely not your typical horror movie and it is deeply unsettling.
