According to Deadline, ‘Never After Dark’ director Dave Boyle will helm a reimagining of Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s 2001 classic.
The original follows two groups of people who find evidence that spirits are trying to break into our world through the internet. The remake keeps that core concept but drops it into the present day with new characters.
Parker Finn and Jonathan Fass are producing for Bad Feeling, the outfit already behind an upcoming ‘Possession’ remake.
Boyle is a fitting pick given that he’s built a career telling stories set in Japan or centered on Japanese and Japanese-American characters. His ‘Never After Dark’ hits theaters later this month.
