Whitney Peak to Star in Upcoming Southern Gothic Chiller ‘Eye for an Eye’ – Trailer Reaction
Eye for an Eye comes out in theaters and on streaming later this month.

Earlier today (June 9, 2025) the trailer for the upcoming supernatural horror film An Eye for an Eye. Check it out:
Eye for an Eye stars Whitney Peak (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Hocus Pocus 2, Gossip Girl) as Anna, a young woman who moves from New York to Florida to live with her grandmother after the death of her parents. Anna makes friends in her new home, but when she becomes party to a violent act perpetrated by one of her friends, she becomes cursed. Now the local legend of Mr. Sandman, an entity that haunts bullies’ dreams and tears out their eyes, is after Anna.
Eye for an Eye is based on the “adult horror picture book” Mr. Sandman which was created by Elisa Victoria. Victoria co-wrote the script for the film with Michael Tully (Don’t Leave Home). Eye for an Eye is directed by Colin Tilly, a music video director with an extensive resume of working with artists including Post Malone, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and many more.
The trailer for Eye for an Eye looks interesting. This is director Colin Tilly’s first feature film, but his experience in creating strong visuals for music videos is perfect for a movie about spooky dreams. Some of the visual effects shots in the trailer look good, though others I’m not so sure of. We’ll have to wait and see how they turn out in the final film, but there’s definitely potential. I’m hoping for style and substance, but if the style is good enough, then that’s okay too.
An entity that haunts dreams and takes people’s eyes is definitely unique. The eyeball imagery is nice and gruesome, but the exceedingly literal interpretation of “an eye for an eye” feels a little silly on the surface. Hopefully it’s used in more creative ways throughout the film. But again, simple can be entertaining too.
So, judging by the trailer, I’m looking forward to an Eye for an Eye to a modest degree. On a scale of ice cold to scorching hot, my hype meter is set at lukewarm.
Eye for an Eye is scheduled for a June 20th release in limited theaters and on video-on-demand platforms.
