Blood Star

Blood Star (2024)
Bobbi looks at the taillight recently broken by Sheriff Bilstein, which he blames on her, naturally.

Star Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Released digitally November 25th, 2025 | Rent on Amazon

Bobbi (Britni Camacho) is driving across the New Mexican desert on her way back home to a jealous and easily angered boyfriend. She soon becomes the target of a local sheriff (John Schwab) who targets women passing through his sparsely-populated jurisdiction. What begins as extortion for a crime she didn’t commit eventually spirals into a life-or-death, cat-and-mouse chase as Bobbi is stalked by a sheriff with murder on his mind.

Blood Star (2024)
Bobbi looks to see if the sheriff is on her tail after a particularly brutal attack.

Blood Star is a nicely paced and surprisingly brutal thriller that ventures more into horror territory towards the end of the story. Britni Camacho and John Schwab are great adversaries for each other, and they each embody their roles perfectly. The plot does hit many expected beats in the first half, but the second half of the movie feels suitably unpredictable and tense. There are a few extremely surprising moments in the latter half of the movie. Blood Star gets a solid recommendation for fans of movies like The Hitcher (1986) and Revenge (2017).
