It’s always a good day when a new horror movie hits a streaming service you already subscribe to. Keeping up with every horror movie as it comes out can get expensive, so if a movie lands on a streamer you already pay for, then it’s a nice way to save on a rental fee. So, here are all of the newest movies (previously released as digital rentals sometime during 2025) that will be available to stream on subscription services in August. New titles get announced all the time, so this list is as complete as possible as of August 1st.

HBO Max

Final Destination: Bloodlines

The newest installment of the Final Destination franchise is now streaming on HBO Max! The film shakes up the lore of the series a bit, beginning with a young woman having nightmares about deaths that were supposed to happen years before she was born. Her search for the truth about what she’s seen leads to the revelation that Death is stalking her entire family.

Freaky Tales

Pedro Pascal stars in Freaky Tales.

Streaming on HBO Max August 8, 2025.

Freaky Tales is an anthology film that blends together different genres including action, science fiction, comedy, and even a few light elements of horror. Set in Oakland, California in 1987, the four stories connect to tell a larger tale of people fighting and surviving among extraordinary circumstances.

Shudder

Clown in a Cornfield is based on the novel of the same name by Adam Cesare.

Streaming on Shudder and AMC+ on August 8, 2025.

A teenager, Quinn, and her father move to the rural town of Kettle Springs. Quinn befriends a group of teens whom the town blame for the destruction of their cherished corn syrup factory. The teens don’t help their standing in the community by making horror videos featuring the factory’s mascot, Frendo the Clown. Before long, Frendo begins murdering people for real.

The Monkey

The Monkey was directed by Osgood Perkins (Longlegs).

When they were young, twin brothers Hal and Bill discovered a toy monkey that mysteriously kills people whenever it plays its drum. They thought they’d gotten rid of the monkey, but as adults, Hal is drawn back to his hometown by a new series of mysterious deaths. Is the monkey back? It Feeds was written and directed by Chad Archibald (producer of Vicious Fun).

A young woman seeks help from a psychic psychiatrist to get rid of a dangerous entity she believes has attached itself to her. The psychiatrist is hesitant to get involved, but she has no choice when her own daughter is put in danger.

Hell of a Summer

Finn Wolfhard and Billy Bryk wrote and directed Hell of a Summer.

Streaming on Hulu August 29, 2025.

As Camp Pineway prepares to open for another summer, the camp counselors gather to prepare (and party). Bodies start dropping at the hands of a masked killer, but could one of the counselors be behind the mask? Hell of a Summer is a silly slasher-comedy that plays around with horror tropes.

Ridiculously famous pop-star Sofia has a stalker by the name of Paul. Paul believes he and Sofia are in love, and that they’re to be married. After escaping from custody after a previous attempt at invading Sofia’s mansion, Paul brings a couple of friends with him to once again break in and finally have the wedding he’s long desired.
