Last Year’s Controversial POV Slasher Horror Movie Is Getting a Sequel
It’s called an “ambient slasher”.

In a Violent Nature (2024) is a backwoods slasher movie told mostly from the perspective of the killer, Johnny. The large, mute, reanimated man stalks his victims through the woods as the camera follows behind him. The movie was controversial for unique storytelling method (and the audience expectations that went along with it), graphic violence and mixed reviews from fans. We ranked it the 42nd best horror movie of 2024. You can read Creepy Catalog’s full review here.
Now, In a Violent Nature 2 will officially begin filming in September. Very little is known about the film other than the filming location being Canada (which is where the original was also shot). Writer/director Chris Nash will return as will actor Ry Barrett who portrayed Johnny. Peter Kuplowsky and Shannon Hanmer will also return as producers.
The head of AMC Networks Film Group, Scott Shooman, said “With the sequel, we aim to prove that Johnny can be bigger, meaner, and his kills can only get more impressive.”
Updates on In a Violent Nature 2‘s release date will be added to our new/upcoming horror movie tracker as that information is made available to the public.
