After opening in theaters on July 10, “Evil Dead Burn” will arrive on HBO Max on October 2, giving viewers the rest of the month to stream the horror sequel before Halloween.
Directed by Sébastien Vaniček, the movie follows a grieving woman who seeks support from her late husband’s family. A gathering at an isolated home turns deadly when members of the family become Deadites.
Souheila Yacoub, known for “Dune: Part Two,” leads the cast. Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Tandi Wright, Erroll Shand, George Pullar and Maude Davey also star.
“Evil Dead Burn” is the franchise’s 6th film and the 3rd since the series returned in 2013. Sam Raimi created the franchise, which began with “The Evil Dead” in 1981 and continued through “Evil Dead II,” “Army of Darkness,” the 2013 film “Evil Dead” and 2023’s “Evil Dead Rise.” Bruce Campbell also returned as Ash Williams for the Starz series “Ash vs Evil Dead,” which ran from 2015 to 2018.
Raimi and Robert Tapert produced “Evil Dead Burn,” while Campbell, Romel Adam, Lee Cronin and Jose Cañas served as executive producers. Another installment, Francis Galluppi’s “Evil Dead Wrath,” is scheduled for April 2028.
