Keanu Reeves is reportedly in talks to star in James Wan’s remake of The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil. He could join returning star Don Lee in the Paramount Pictures film.

The story puts a cop and a crime boss on the trail of the same serial killer. Their uneasy partnership comes with competing motives and double-crosses.

Lee, also known as Ma Dong-seok, is set to return as gangster Jang Dong-soo. Reeves’ potential role hasn’t been specified.

Lee Won-tae wrote and directed the original Korean action-crime thriller, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019. The remake would be Wan’s first film as director since 2023’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Eric Pearson, whose credits include The Fantastic Four: First Steps, wrote the latest script. Earlier drafts came from Brian Helgeland, the writer of A Knight’s Tale, and Shay Hatten, who previously worked with Reeves on the John Wick films.
