Jack O’Connell has joined A Quiet Place Part III as the brother of Cillian Murphy’s character, Emmett. That makes the two actors who each played a character named Jim in the 28 Days Later and 28 Years Later movies on-screen brothers in the next A Quiet Place film.

“A Quiet Place was, that felt like family. It’s about family, obviously. Got John Krasinski and Emily Blunt involved, and Cillian and I play brothers. There was a real familial feel to that one.” O’Connell said that about his time making A Quiet Place Part III while speaking to Collider.

Cillian Murphy had what could be considered his worldwide breakthrough role as Jim in 28 Days Later. Murphy was introduced to A Quiet Place in the second movie. He plays Emmett, a survivor who Evelyn (Emily Blunt) and her children meet when they are forced to leave their home.

Emmett and Evelyn knew each other from before the apocalypse, but he is initially a loner who just wants to be left alone.

Jack O’Connell has had a strong couple of years in horror. He played Remmick in Sinners, and then he portrayed Jimmy Crystal briefly in 28 Years Later and in a co-starring role in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple.

The full extent of his role in A Quiet Place Part III isn’t known yet, but he’s confirmed as Emmett’s brother.
