The first Apocalypse Z movie, released in 2024, focused on a man and his cat trying to reach the safety of the Canary Islands when a zombie apocalypse broke out in Spain. This sequel, Apocalypse Z: New World, shifts focus to the people on the Canary Islands, specifically the soldiers. With supplies running low, a team is formed to travel to the mainland of Spain to gather supplies, but one among the group has a different reason for traveling to the mainland.
I liked the first movie, but I wonder if the second will be able to retain the survival drama of the first with the change in focus from an ordinary guy to trained soldiers. Both movies are based on the Apocalypse Z novels by author Manel Loureiro.
Apocalypse Z: New World was written and directed by the same duo who made the first movie, Ángel Agudo and Carles Torrens. This sequel stars Carlos Alcaide, José María Yazpik, Berta Vázquez, Julia Martínez, Mónica López, Tamara Casellas, and Santiago Vaca.
