A Woman Investigates Her Brother’s Disappearance in the Slow-Burn Found Footage Horror Movie 'Hunting Matthew Nichols', Now Streaming on Shudder and AMC+

About two decades ago, Tara’s brother Matthew disappeared. Now, she’s making a documentary about her renewed investigation to find him. Her path will lead Tara into possibly disappearing herself.

Hunting Matthew Nichols uses a found footage/pseudo-documentary presentation to tell its story. Reviews have remarked about its use of The Blair Witch Project as not only inspiration, but as part of the movie itself. People also tend to say it’s a fairly slow burn up until late in the movie (which is how many Blair-Witch-inspired movies play out).

Markian Tarasiuk directed Hunting Matthew Nichols. Sean Oliver wrote the script from a story by Tarasiuk. Miranda MacDougall, Markian Tarasiuk, Ryan Alexander McDonald, Christine Willes, Susinn McFarlen, and James Ross star.
