This weekend (Jan. 27, 2023) sci-fi horror movie Infinity Pool will open. The film stars Alexander Skarsgård as a writer on a fancy vacation with his wife (Cleopatra Coleman), who is seduced by Mia Goth’s character and accidentally hits someone with his car. In this fictional foreign country, the crime is punishable by death. Skarsgård’s character opts to take the only way out he is given, to pay an exorbitant sum of money to have a double created to be executed in his place.

Written and directed by Brandon Cronenberg, son of famed body horror director David Cronenberg, Infinity Pool features nudity, on-screen sex acts, orgies, adult breastfeeding and murder. It was originally rated NC-17, but was edited down to an R, despite keeping the scene where Alexander Skarsgård is fully nude. After viewing Infinity Pool at Sundance, the film has been called “The White Lotus- but for sickos.

Fighting a naked version of myself to the death and then being breastfed by Mia … that’s not something you get to do very often as an actor.

The Daily Mail wondered whether Infinity Pool is “one of the most shocking horror movies ever.” The Verge called it a “surreal and chaotic descent into depravity”.
